 Having a Grand Piano adds such class to the Show !!  We’ve been drawing sizable crowds for our Sunday Soiree at Sapphire Grill. Now we have a fan base, and the word is getting out. The next step is to get some live recordings and put them up !! It’s heartwarming to see the effect that good live music in an intimate club setting can have on a room. The folks get more sociable and convivial, and yes, more spirited.
We’ve been getting some “prestige gigs”, lately and hope that trend will continue – feel that we could do it all –Event Band, Wedding Band, Show Band — as well as Bar Band !! As we expand our repertoire, it will give us more flexibility. Am presently looking to fill out our week for the upcoming busy season – got any gigs ??

 We have started a new band, comprised of the following personnel : Denise Hummer on vocals, Rhett Simmonds on upright bass, Abu on percussion, and myself on keys. This project is exciting on several levels. It will allow us the opportunity to explore Funk, R&B,Jazz, and Caribbean rhythms - as well as our own originals !! The presence of a percussionist as well as a trap set drummer makes for some interesting textural and rhythmical hues. Rhett has gotten into some interesting grooves with the percussion section and that adds interest – as well as a different texture ! I’m unsure as to what category (if any), we fit into. Bar Band ? Show Band ? Event Band ?? I guess if we could do it all – we would be busy !!
Presently, we are appearing at Sapphire Bar and Grill on Sundays 6-9pm, and at Latitude 18 on Wednesdays 7:30-10:30pm.

This is a somewhat sophisticated gig at a lovely location overlooking Hull Bay. The cuisine here is excellent and the staff is great! The white baby grand piano makes an impressive impact upon entering, and is maintained by Patrick Baron RPT. Thus it is the finest piano in a commercial establishment on St. Thomas. I play a wide variety of genres here. |

This is a somewhat sophisticated gig at a lovely location overlooking Hull Bay Beach. The grand piano makes a statement immediately upon entering. I'll be playing mostly jazz early on and then may pick it up depending on the vibe. A couple of fine singers may stop by, as well as other musicians ! The food here is excellent, and the staff is great !! |
